Call Center Agents - Healthcare Account

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Account Representative to join our team. As a Healthcare Account Representative, you will be responsible for handling various administrative tasks and providing exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers. Your role will involve verifying insurance coverage, scheduling appointments, processing billing inquiries, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical services.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients, ensuring efficient utilization of healthcare providers' time.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
  • Assist patients with billing inquiries, explaining charges, and resolving any billing-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure smooth workflow and exceptional patient care.
  • Process medical records requests and coordinate the release of information to authorized individuals.
  • Follow established procedures for collecting and documenting patient information, medical history, and insurance details.
  • Stay updated on medical billing and coding regulations, insurance policies, and industry trends.
  • Provide excellent customer service, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Handle complaints or concerns from patients or healthcare providers, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims and follow-up on unpaid accounts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance billing processes, and healthcare administrative procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to healthcare service delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
